Yeah, sure.
The only thing that gets past me is the stuff that's posted while I'm online.
And I do a good job of picking up most of that too. Even so, a lot of the
stuff that gets thrown at me kind of gets shuffled to the side.
Part of my prioritizing system. And I have to admit, my organization
needs some organizing. <G> But I'm working on it. It's a matter of
managing volume and approaching critical mass. I'll probably be looking
for lots of help soon.
In addition to ASOFT, I've been logging in regularly to Cyberforum,
Spaceflight, AIExpert, Graphdev, Religion, Issues and a host of other places
in CompuServe cyberspace. I also frequent a few local boards. And as you
probably are aware, I am in the process of creating a whole new menu.
I keep all of the messages I read here and elsewhere on my hard drive
and archive to QIC tape. I produce duplicate tape backups and store the
duplicates in two different places.
All part of the desire to further my understanding and help others when I can.
It's not always possible to respond to everything that I'd like to…
but I try. Dave Aguilar seems to have a much better handle on managing
a large volume of traffic. But I'm getting better at it.

P.S. Do I recall you saying something about bat-winged creatures early on?

I wasn't sure how that message to you got to me, and as I don't read all the
messages posted, I thought it was possible you might miss it. Its definitely a
skill managing all this traffic. I gave up on Windows based apps and went back
to Tapcis as a result, alot faster IMO.

That you do. I mentioned it in reference to the Communications Center, as the
design style is sort of a modern gothic. Are you interested in creating some
Gargoyles per chance? I'd love it. I'm all for it or anything else you'd be in
interested in doing. I'd like to snag David and Bruce as well. There's all
kinds of neat things that can be done. Like really ornate latticed windows,
stylized flying buttresses etc. etc.
Let me know and I'll work on David some more. <g> I don't know about Bruce, I
don't even know if he's into it, but if he is… 🙂

What ideas have you got in mind for your retro-gothic communications
thingamegig? Let me know what you needed modelled and I'll scamper down to the
Museum of French National Monuments and take a few notes. I'm going to get some
books out on Parisien Architecture in any event, the only problem is that the
cat ate the cover of one of the last books I've borrowed so I'm in the process
of sticky taping the pieces back together. I hope the librarian has bad vision
when I return the book.
You might want to upload some preliminary designs so I can start the
input/output process. I haven't started on my own building due to work but I
could help you out with yours.
I think we could create a gargoyle for each of the forum members here with
different expressions. I'm having trouble putting a quilt on Bruce McGlasson's
gargoyle, not to mention wipping off the ridiculous grin on it's face. 😉
As for creating bat-winged creatures, that sounds cool. I recently saw some
models created with Lparser, a program for generated an object through a
specification of their growth. It has some great examples of trees and strange
insect like creatures. I worked out how to create similar objects using the
hierarchical linking in the Keyframer. I created a few creatures with twisting
and bending backbones. Rather interesting.
I think you could merge the architectural concepts of both a gothic church and
communications tower. After all both are there to advertise something remotely
religious.

Well see, that's the thing. I've got lots of work to do and I was thinking
maybe we could just colloborate <sp> on this Communications Center.
I know for sure that I'm going to need some latticed windows, round ones with
colored panes, and some buttresses, which can be steel or stone… entrance
ways, vaulted cielings… spires, satellite dishes… cables… <g> whatever
you want to work on can be incorporated. I don't know, but maybe Kevin is going
to do some Gargoyles. I'd like to do them myself. Just alot to do… so I'm
open to whatever.

It never was intended as a church. Its set in the future, when people have
forgotten about religion and the government has created an association with
what used to be religion with Communication Centers, because now "Big Brother"
has the word. If you get a chance rent the British movie version of "1984".
It'll be faster than trying to read the book. <g>

First its a kilt, then its a quilt. I don't really care which just as long as
it compliments me sporen. The ridiculois grin is obviously linked to the method
you're using to position that quilt! I'll give you just five more minutes to
cut that out… 😮

The problem was that with a kilt all the young children, below looking up, were
being frightened by the contents beneath the kilt, so I instead covered it over
with a quilt in the interests of good taste.
