Please help. My son has written a novel on his Amiga. He has to submit it to his editor in an IBM-DOS text-only format on an IBM-DOS formatted disk. There is supposed to be a utility called CrossDos that would enable him to produce such a text file on such a disk format. We have been unable to find out where to get CrossDos. Can anyone give me a tip? His Amiga has a single diskette drive and no hard drive. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks and best regards, Herb Harrell

CrossDos !s by CONSULTRON 8959 Ridge Rd Plymouth, MI 48170 Your local Amiga dealer should be able to get it for you if they don't have it in stock. Julius via AutoPilot

CrossDOS is a commercial program that any Amiga dealer – local or mailorder – should be able to supply. I don't know the current price, but it used to cost about $20-25 street price. They have added quite a bit to the latest version, so I don't know if the old price is still right. I can assure you that it will work, and on any number of drives you might have. It's the simplest thing in the world to use, once installed. We do have a PD utility here that works in much the same way as CrossDOS, but you have the problem of getting it to your son's Amiga. It is called MultiDOS: MLDOS1.LHA 11 34K 04-Dec-91 Read MS-DOS disks in your Amiga floppy drives Notice that this is in Library 11 of AmigaTech. —Betty

Perhaps a simpler method would be to EMail yourself the file using the Amiga to send it, then use a friends PC to log in and download it. If you do it in ASCII it will even correct for the LF and CR/LF automagically.

Get CrossDos as soon as you can. It is a wonderful piece of software. I use it quite frequently to transfer files between MS-DOS machines and my Amigas. I believe Creative Computers et all carry it. {@_@} (Or wait a little while until 2.1 is available. It is included as part of the 2.1 release. (Note that REQUIRES you have 2.04 ROMs.))
