Thanks for the response. I've uncovered a couple of titles done for the
original Animator; may pick them up anyway, just to see if there's
anything useful there.
I wonder why the gauntlet hasn't been picked up on this one? I get a sense
that Animator Pro — for whatever reason(s) — isn't much of a contender
among the level of users who would be most likely to use it … like it's a
bit too intimidating for novices/average-skilled users while experienced
users seem to prefer to move on to 3D Studio or the Mac- or UNIX-based
competitors. Am I wasting my time here?

I'm not objective, so I won't compare AniPro with other 2D animation
packages. However, you really shouldn't compare AniPro and 3D Studio as if
one were an animation upgrade of the other. AniPro is a two-dimensional
animation package for 8-bit animations which can be played "real-time" off
of your computer. 3D Studio is a three-dimensional modeling, animation, and
rendering package that can output 8-bit animations, or 24/32-bit
animations. The choice of either package depends on the end result you're
looking for.
