Hi There, I work for a large computer dealer, and recently we purchased two eval copies of 3D-Studio 2.0. I have been using it for a while, trying to thoroughly learn it as we are going to become a dealer. Anyway, I have a Gateway 2000 486/33 with 20Mb Ram, 200Mb HD. I have an ATI Graphics Ultra with 1Mb. I just purchased DL-Xpress from Vibrant Graphics, and have it set for 1024x768x16 for the main displays and 640x480x256 for Materials Editor. RCPADI is set for Generic Vga 320x200x256 and RDPADI is set for 800x600x256. The problem I am having is that the system locks up or reboots whenever I try and use the Preview function in the Keyframer. One time I got the error: Abnormal Program Termination: Illegal instruction CS:EIP = 0DE7h:00000026h Also, the ADI driver came with a patch program to fix a bug with release 2 and adi drivers, which I ran. If you have heard of anything like this please let me know, as this is very frustrating. It happens everytime I try and use the Preview function. Thanks much Dave Mennenoh 71561,2343

I know of no problem running the ATI Ultra, and have never heard of the patch you're referring to. Have you talked to anyone at Panacea about this? One thing that _could_ be hanging you up is the fact that your RCPADI devices is set to generic VGA, and your RDPADI device is set to 800x600x256. RCPADI is usually the SVGA rendering device, and RDPADI is usually a second frame buffer, such as a Targa+. You could try dropping RDPADI completely and establishing the 800x600x256 mode as your RCPADI device. – G
