I am having trouble installing mscdex to my harddrive. The config.sys is looking for driver mscd001 for the sound blaster pro cd-rom drive. it tells me it does not exist. I have downloaded all of Creative Labs bulletin board and have been trying to install for 5 hours with no luck. does anybody have mscd001, or is there something I am overlooking?

Do you have the latest version of Microsoft extensions? It is version 2.21 I believe.

Your overlooking the SCSI driver in your config.sys. If you bought the SB kit, then you should have a driver to install into your config.sys for the CD-ROM drive. Once the driver is installed and reconizes your CD-ROM, you run MSCDEx in your autoexec.bat and you get a drive letter that is now your CD-ROM drive. Look for a file with a .SYS extension and follow the directions in your manuals. -Clarke
