Hey! Got the some Orlando DevCon stuff in the mail today! I'm planning
on going….anyone else?

Right now, it's on the wish list and waiting for a funding priority. I
hope to be able to go, but am not certain yet. (My info came in the mail
today as well.)

BTW, for those who are tight on funds, the hotel where this DevCon is being
held is not very far from other hotels with MUCH lower rates. (I've stayed
at the Travelodge Orlando Flags which is about 3 blocks away, and it's only
$29 a night for AAA members…) That can save quite a bit pricewise…

There is a Quality Inn (haven't stayed there) about four blocks away, and
it is in that same price range. And a Howard Johnson's across the street
that is about half the Marriott price.

There's something like 20-30 different hotels/motels along that stretch of
International Drive, in all price ranges. Shouldn't be difficult to find
something to fit anyone's tastes/budget. I've stayed at several different
places there over the years.

heck I'm gonna pay for it :-).

I had already scheduled vacation time for it from Work back when I first
heard about it (July?). I'll definately be there. I'm not too sure of my
schedule, though… I will likely drive down the weekend before, but I'm
not sure if I'll be able to stay any time after. I'd like to stick around
for the mass invasion of whatever attraction people decide to go to on
Saturday, but I'm not certain whether I'll have the time.
This makes *two* Florida trips I'll be making in 3 months. (The first one
starts Halloween, and goes for 2 weeks…) Quite a lot of driving, but
that's never bothered me.

Where do you live?
I'll also be making two trips within three months if I'm able to go to
DEVCON. I unfortunately have a commitment to be available the week of Jan
25-29, so I won't know for sure until the end of December.

I live in the Philly area. In my case, both trips are for "vacation"
rather than business. (Yes, I consider the Amiga DevCon a vacation trip.
It's always been a lot of fun… <g>)

I'm becomming more discouraged all the time at my chances of making it to
DevCon.

Yeah, we might be able to do that! 🙂 I still have to arrange stuff
with work, and I have to decide which day I want to go up. I'm also
trying to decide whether I want my own car up there for that time. We'll
talk about it again when DevCon time gets closer.

I think that I will be going. My family should be joining me afterwords
for a time at Mickey Mouse land… Fun, fun, fun.
