I'm not sure how much editing you plan to do in Hi8, but you need to be
carefull. We gave up using Hi8 for editing because the tape would not hold
up. We have moved to MII for all editing but still use Hi8 for acquisition
only.

One thing to consider on HI8 is although it's nice first gen, the S/N ratio
is, I think 46 compared to at least 3/4 which is 50. (Someone jump in here
and correct if need be, I'm quoting from memory) which means your image can
degrade quite a bit coming from HI8. I've used HI8 for libve stuff but
would NEVER use it for animations.
