Help! I am having problems rendering to a Targa+ board (in PAL) from 3D Studio V2. All was working fine using 3DS' own RDPADI driver, and then for no apparent reason (perhaps someone tinkered with my machine) it went horribly wrong! Now all I get is a 'Can't allocate image buffer', followed by a 'init of driver failed' message! I have tried changing the system over to the Truevision RCPTARGAP.EXP driver, but to no avail. What can the problem be? Any suggestions gratefully recieved! BTW the Truevision driver says that it should have the line; DEFAULT-DISPLAY = RCPADI in the 3DS.SET file, previously the command was RENDER-DISPLAY = RDPADI. Either way changing it to RENDER-DISPLAY = RCPADI makes no difference to the problem! ………Ian

Ian: The first thing to try whenever an adi driver suddenly goes wacky is to delete the file called 3DADI.CFG in your 3DS directory. When you start 3DS the next time, it will ask you a few questions for configuration, and will usually fix the glitch (unless someone really tried to mess with your mind!) This will fix many RCPADI or RDPADI glitches, but has nothing to do with 3DS internal drivers. Did you try to set it to (yucch!) vga 320×200 to make sure the program itself was working properly?
