Could someone with a similar setup double check this to see what I've got
wrong? I've got a 2286 BB with the ATOP 386sx, and I just installed a TEAC
"Combo Drive" – 5.25" & 3.5" in the same drive (model FD-505-000-U). I'm
using the end ("A") connector from the BB, and have set the 3.5" drive as
drive A (settings DS1=3.5, MON3=ON), and the 5.25" as drive B (settings
DS2=5.25, MON2=ON). I've run setup to tell it that the first floppy is
1.44 Mb and the second floppy is 1.2 Mb. NO PROBLEMS with the 3.5" drive,
but NOTHING DOING with the 5.25". When I boot I can hear the usual
clunk-whirr (or however you describe it) when the drives are accessed (for
both), but get a drive not ready when I try to format or the old abort,
retry, fail, when switching to the B: drive.
Any suggestions as to what I've messed up? I'll call the dealer's tech
support in the morning, but …. plus the system is at home and I'll call
from work…
Thanks, Mike
