SteadyCam Power Cord

I'm using a Canon A-1 digital on a SteadyCam JR and have had problems with the
maximum limit of about 45 minuits from my camera battery. I sometimes shoot
performances with my SteadyCam and need to shoot continusly for an hour or
more. I wanted to use a battery belt but the cord would create a problem with
the stability of the SteadyCam, so with the help of a friend, I came up with a
special power cord to connect the battery belt to the camera with little
interference with SteadyCam JR operation. I know some people are using battery
belts with the steady cam using cameras with back mounted batteries. I guess it
works OK but perhaps the cord I am using would help. Sound interesting?

I'm using the same rig: Canon A-1 with the Steadicam JR. I have had a little
problem with the momochrome monitor on the Steadicam. It doesn't work. Any
suggestions?
You mean It's blank or the Picture is funky (Batteries?). My gues you mean it's
blank. I've had that problem but associated with the fact that I've had it
apart, and there's a wire pinching. You might first make sure the Video cable
to the SteadiCam is in all the way. I have had mine come out just enough to
loose contact and give a blank screen. Once youve checked that, check the
brightness knob ( it sounds stupid but i've done that too). If none of this
works, with the SteadiCam in "flying" position, fold the monitor down to the
upper spar as when closing it and see if it comes on. If so there may be a wire
pinching.

I'd also like to know where you are located and what you are doing with your
setup, I'd like to network with others for professional reasons, even if you
don't consider yourself professional.
