Kenneth: Your best bet is to post your request in Section 9 of the AmigaVend forum. I don't know of any other way to get AutoPilot without downloading it. I don't think the author is interested in distributing it by mail or any other means. Wayne Steele Saving $ with AutoPilot

To download AutoPilot. Set your terminal program to use Compuserve B+ if it has that protocol, else use XMODEM with AUTOCHOP turned ON. You will need to unarchive Autopilot so you'll have to download LHA138.RUN found in LIB 16 of AmigaUser, unless you already have it. Here is a sample download session. G AmigaUser Lib 16 dow;proto:B+ (or dow;proto:xmodem) file to download: LHA138.RUN download to computer: df0:LHA138.run (or if you have hard disk named dh0: dh0:LHA138.run) I don't own ATalkIII but here you would activate the Receive File menu choice. Receive Binary, Receive XMODEM, etc. some menu choice like them. For Autopilot… Go AmigaVend LIB 9 Dow;proto:B+ File to download: AP.LHA Download to Computer: dh0:AP.LHA (put path to download here, your choice same as above, could be df0: (floppy disk) or a sub-directory on your hard drive like Dh0:DLOADS/AP.LHA use same menu selection to activate ATalkIII's download protocol as mentioned above. Once you get the files you must unpack them. First LHA138.RUN will self-extract. First check to make sure there is room to unpack the file on your floppy disk or hard drive. If all your floppy has on it is LHA138.run your in good shape. I usually unpack to my ram: disk. Where ever you choose to unpack it the file first must reside on that device. In other words copy the file LHA138.RUN to the disk you want the unpacked files to be placed on. Then open a SHELL window and type. CD df0: (or the path to find the file, like CD DH0:Dloads) DIR LHA138.run (type exactly as you see the name.) The file will auto-extract and you'll find several files one called LHA another called LHA.man (documentation file). Copy LHA to your C: directory. LHA only works from the SHELL and you must use it to extract AutoPilot. Now do the same thing with AP.LHA, put it on a floppy by itself, copy it to the ram disk or put it in its own directory on your hard drive. makedir dh0:AP (will create a directory called AP on your disk Dh0: <continued>

or use the menu item in the Workbench so you'll have an icon for it. Choose from Menu, Window – New Drawer and then name it) type LHA x dh0:dloads/AP.lha dh0:AP/ (must use the slash here to show path for LHA to unpack files correctly) Autopilot will unpack from the archive found in DH0:Dloads to the directory called AP on you DH0: hard drive. All the files including instructions should be found after LHA is through extracting. This should get you started, and I'm SURE there will be a few other responses describing how to go about the same thing, but maybe in different ways of describing it. Between all of the responses you'll get you should get a good understanding of how to go about it. Hope this helps, Chris

Lisa, First of all, set ATALKIII for 8 bits, no parity, 1 Stop bit. You do this under the "Settings" menu. Then, look under "Transfer" for Protocol. You should have several protocols listed down at the bottom in a different color from the others, and one of them should be 'bplus.' Choose that one. Now, go to AmigaVendor GO AMIGAV, and type LIB 9. You will see the Lib 9! prompt, and you type DOW AP.LHA PROTO:BPLUS CompuServe will then ask, Name for your computer to use. You type both the path and the name of the program – such as df0:AP.LHA to put it on a floppy in drive 0: Then, press Right-Amiga R, and it should download for you. Do the same to get the documentation. After you have these programs, you will need to unpack them using another program you must download: LHA138.RUN, from Library 16 of AmigaUser. To get it, type GO AMIGAU to get to the forum, then LIB 16 to find the right library, and then type DOW LHA138.RUN PROTO:BPLUS, answer the "Name for your computer to use" with DF0:LHA138.RUN, and press Right-Amiga and R to start the transfer. Then, sign off. Now, to unpack these things do this: MAKEDIR DF0:LHA CD DF0:LHA DF0:LHA138.RUN (That unpacks LHA138.RUN. To see the files, type DIR, and you will get a list of them. One of the files will be LHA. You want to copy that one to your c: directory or to your tools: directory. Do it this way:) COPY LHA C: Next, you need to unpack AutoPilot. Follow the same pattern: MAKEDIR DF0:AP CD DF0:AP LHA DF0:AP.LHA Then type DIR to see the files in that directory. Next, do the same thing for the docs. Either read the docs using MORE or print them to your printer. They give you step-by-step instructions for setting up AutoPilot and getting started using it.
