Ok, thanks for the help. I'll give it a try and let you know how it
turns out.
Randy.
By the way, Randy, when you copy and paste the cup, don't forget to change
its attributes by dropping its brush. (Just a reminder). BP

Well I did the copy/paste thing and it actualy worked out pretty good.
Now I just have to do some finishing touches and the cup should be
presentable. Thanks again for the help.
Randy.
Randy, glad I could help. You've actually saved me the time of
experimenting with that idea myself by doing all the work and giving me the
feedback. Thanks.
The project I'm working on rigt now is to 3D model the space shuttle
accurately. I bought a large plastic model kit and rigged up a poor man's
way to get the shape of each slice without any extra work (I'm working
directly off of the pieces.) BP

The space Shuttle eh? Thats getting pretty complicated. Way out of my
league.
Right now I'm working on my Halloween picture. It's going to be a room
surrounded by shadows with a big cauldron in the middle. From the cauldron
will come a green light with a lot of mist/gas. Just trying to get the gas
to look right is harder than I thought but I'm getting it, if somewhat
slowly. At least the cauldron and stand turned out pretty good. Hows the
shuttle going?
Randy.
Randy, I'm pleased so far with what I've done. The worst is over. I've
got the fuselage, wings, tail, and the two pods on the back. I'm really
only doing the outside shell. All I've got left is the back with the three
rocket engines and the four thrusters on the pods.
The resolution may not be high enough for some people, but it's high
enough for me. I used the forms editor for the fuselage which has 24 slices
at 28 points per slice; Also for the wing which has 15 slices at 17 points
a slice; and the pods which have 6 slices at 15 points a slice.
I'm working with a friend on a 30 second animation.
By the way, be sure to get the latest issue of Avid. there is a
trmemendously powerful article on professional lighting with Imagine. The
author presents the concept of using many lights (12) to simulate real
world lighing. He explains fully the reason for each light,it's position,
and characteristics.
As far as I'm concerned, lighting is the hardest thing for me to do in
Imagine and that's probably because I only used two. I won't try that many
lights until my Zeus board arrives which is still on backorder. BP

I've seen the article and was slightly blown away by it. Actually with
my Cauldron scene that I'm working on now, I'm having trouble getting the
right lighting. I want the atmosphere in the room to be dark and filled
with shadows. It's quite hard to do. Perhaps I should reread that article
and see if I can get any ideas. Although I am really impressed by the
torch flame I managed to make. Looks really HOT! Snicker snicker…
So it's obvious by your last message that you know the forms editor in
and out. I kind of know how to navigate it but haven't really tried to do
much in there. It still scares me a bit. Just wondering, have you gotten
the impulse newsletter yet? I'm still waiting for mine. Maybe tomorrow…
Randy.
Yes, I got the Impulse newsletter. BP
