Tom, Any Amiga MIDI interface will work with DMCS, so if cost is the overriding factor, look for the least expensive Amiga MIDI interface you can find. You'll probably either want to get one with a serial pass-through/switch or an external serial switchbox so that you can use your modem easily. MIDI-Gold or the ECE interface are a couple of names that come to mind, but by no means the only ones in town. MIDI-Gold has an internal version for the A2000, but can get in the way of internal accelerator cards and expansion cards. You can use the A500 version of MIDI-Gold on your A2000 if you don't want to go with the internal A2000 version. Cost wise, no-frills Amiga MIDI interfaces are in the $45-65 range. When you see an interface costing more than that, it might have something extra, like sampling hardware or SMPTE for example. Although it is a bit pricey, if you plan to do a lot of MIDI work, (i.e., go beyond DMCS at some point), you might want to consider getting Triple Play Plus from The Blue Ribbon Soundworks. It will allow you to have three independent MIDI OUT ports (3*16 MIDI channels) when used with the proper software. btw, don't expect a lot from DMCS's MIDI implementation. It's very limited. You'll be quite frustrated if you're expecting anything resembling real-time MIDI recording from DMCS. A slightly more convenient method of step-time recording than entering notes with the mouse is more like it.
