To all you disbelievers: I bought an NEC-84 internal CDROM drive from Erwin
Computers in Cherry Hill, New Jersey for $395. Their number is (609)
751-6330. Hard to believe, but true!

It would be too much to expect an interface card to be included at that
price, right?
Wonder if they have the 74 (external) at a correspondingly amazing price?
This raises an interesting question: Let's suppose you could have either
an NEC84 or a Texel 3024 at the same price.
Each is internal, each is dual-speed, so data rate is 300 Kb; NEC's
claimed avg access time is 280 msec, Texel claims 265 msec. (Or, compare
the corresponding external drives NEC-74 vs Texel 5024 .)
Which would you buy? Why?
