I have recently purchased an EGS Spectrum card which I am using in an Amiga 3000 (25 MHz, with 10 MB of RAM). I am having trouble bringing the card online. I have version 6.25 of the install software. The system freezes when the line EGS:C/EGSConfig FILE RAM:EGS.config in the EGS monitor file executes. Has anyone had a similar problem? The 3000 loads Kickstart from disk and I am using system 2.1. Many thanks. -David Cattell

I have an A3000 25, 6MB with EGS spectrum card. I got one of the very first cards about 9 months ago. My machine uses EGS v 6.2 and crashes imediately on WB 2.1. My solution was creating 2 seperate boot partitions, one for WB 2.0 and EGS the other for 2.1 and no EGS. The real reason I did two boot partitions is I couldn't have the EGS drivers sucking a Meg of my RAM. So I'm in the same boat too. I am also thinking of getting WB 3.1 so If anyone has had trouble of EGS working with it, let me know. Rob McNaughton

Rob: Thanks for the information. I guess you select which partition to boot from by holding both mouse buttons down when you turn on the 3000? I wonder what 2.1 loads in that the Spectrum card doesn't like. Anyway, thanks again. -David Cattell

Rob: Actually I've had very little problems with the EGS software and the Spectrum working with 3.1, and it's now up to version 7.1. It worked very well using the 6.2 version of EGS as well. I'm looking to purchase a Piccolo SD64 but will have to wait awhile for my checkbook to recover <g>. // John (Warp 4040 & Emplant Quadra 840) \X/ Mercury@ins.infonet.net
