Hello, I new to this, so please excuse my ignorance if it's been asked and answered a thousand times . . . Is there a way to convert a PC file to a Toasterpaint file? (Specifically, I'd like to use Targa files, but I can already convert among most PC formats). Thanks in advance, Dave Felder

There's an Amiga program called Art Department Pro (aka ADPRO) that will do the trick once you get the file over to an Amiga. You will need to purchase the optional converters pack which contains the Targa module. Getting the file from the IBM to Amiga can be done in any of several ways, Modem, disk xfer with software such as CrossDos (a version of which in now included with the new Toaster/4000) or via serial cable.

Don't forget that Imagemaster Now supports Toaster Framestores and you DON'T have to buy anything else. Midgard Graphics Creators of 3D Animation and Special FX For the Hobbyist Videographer.

If I can jump in on this myself please. Seems questions to convert files run in packs. What I need is to transfer toaster framestores to mac. However for the frequency of need, i would not be looking in my own setup, software etc. I'm looking for a service that will take my toaster framestore on disk and return a mac disk, for a fee ofcourse. is there such a service? thanks, george

You can transfer Amiga IFF files to macs via a high density dos floppy no problem. Photoshop on the mac will read the IFF image. You just have to convert the framestore to RGB image in TPaint first. Let me know if I can be of any other help :^)

Imagemaster R/t will do an excellent job of converting from Targa to Toaster frame stores which (I think) is what you mean when you say "convert to a Toasterpaint file". OTOH, if you *really* mean a Toasterpaint file, it can do that, too. :^) Imagemaster R/t is also by far the most powerful image manipulation system available for the Amiga, and adds many special effects capabilities that a Toaster system otherwise lacks. For more information, you can call the company at (800) 852-6442, or simply ask me here or in section 6 of the Amigaa Vendor forum.

Imagemaster R/T from Black Belt Systems will convert PC Graphics for use with the Toaster as will Image F/X and Adpro provided you buy Adpro's Pro Conversion Pack. Midgard Graphics Creators of 3D Animation and Special FX For the Hobbyist Videographer.
