GVP+SQ5110C Strangeness

I have an interesting dilemma:
About two months ago, I bought a Syquest 5110C dual-format cartridge
hard drive to add to my setup. I bought it because I liked the idea of
being able to use 44-meg cartridges for some files, and 88-meg carts for
things that required more storage.
Well, it reads and writes both formats fine, but NOT interchangeably.
If I boot up with an 88-meg cart in the drive (or as the first one I
install after boot-up), should I insert a 44-meg cart, I get a "Not a DOS
Disk" requester pop up.
I was wondering if this is a quirk in the controller software (I have a
GVP Series II HD controller – A500 version – with version 4.13 of the
GVPSCSI.device software. I'm running under DOS 2.1, KickStart 2.04) or a
problem with the drive itself.
I'd appreciate any assistance anyone can offer.
Len,
I do not know if this will work but unless I have a cart im my
5110C when booting up. it is not recognized when I do insert a cart.
I use SSCSIMounter (here on Ci$) to mount the cart. You may want to
try that or a manual mount command. maybe it will help.

Steve-
I'm using GVPs' program (GVPSCSICtrl) and it mounts the first cartridge
I insert OK. The problem arises when I try to insert a cartridge that is
sized differently than the cartride I first inserted. What I've done is:
I've had my 44-meg cartride labelled DH3: and my 88-meg cartridge
labelled DH2:. If I insert the DH2 cartridge first after boot-up, what
I'm having to do is MOUNT DH3: and do a DIR if I want to use the 44-meg
cartridge for anything, and vice-versa.
What I'm thinking is that the GVP driver software doesn't yet support
dual-format removable drives properly. (^_^)
