I recently purchased a Backpack high density drive which is designed to run off of the parallel port. I cannot get the computer to recognize its existance (power supply and cables check out). I am using a GVP286 and running MS/DOS 5.0 and GVP's PC286 and the Backpack software (which as far as I can tell is installed correctly). If anyone can help I would appreciate some suggestions as to how to get this to run.

Ken, Are you trying to run it off the Amiga parallel port? Someone told me a dealer had tried to sell them this, but I can't see how it could work. The LPT1 program assigns the parallel port to the PC, and it's not meant to handle Amiga-to-PC data transfer. If anybody has had success with this, I'd like to hear about it… Marion CROSSINGS Newsletter for PC/Mac emulation
