Redmond, I have just initiated a deal for a used M1230XA (50/50/4!!) and have been told that the unit is still under warrantee. My question: Is the warrantee transferable to me? Thanks. Joe

Joe: sorry, nope it ain't transferreable. Only the original purchase is warranted. If you make a deal with the seller to "burn it in" on your system, odds are very good that you'll never have a need for actual warranty service (you'll still get online and phone support from us). Basically, I wouldn't worry too much about it. –Redmond

Actually, I'm not worried at all, but since the unit is supposed to be only two months old, I was curious about the warranty. BTW, are you using a plastic shield now on the trace side of the board to protect it from the RF sheild?

Joe: we protect the edge now with a strip of high-tack, abrasion resistant black tape. In the past, we put the polyvinyl serial label in the right "spot" but we added the tape as a precaution. That shielding is highly variable, ya know?
