Have a question on protocals. I'm using TERM, (GREAT program), trying it
out, before I buy. I'm having a problem downloading anything using anything
other than Y or X Modem. Get a line full of garbage anytime I try downloading
using B+, Quick B, Kermit, etc. Heck , sometimes I even get locked out and
have to hangup. I'm using a 2400
baud, on a A3000 with 2.04. Any ideas would really be appreciated.

Well the good news is Term is Free(ish), your problem might just be the
version you have. The program is very bug ridden, and has regular updates.
Either try and get a newer update……
Or do what alot of people have done, and thats go to the best one around
Terminus :^)
By the way just so you know, my remarks about Term are from past
experience, I used it extensivley until converting to Terminus… it got
too costly to keep updating (considering I have to call from Hong Kong to
either the US or Europe to get the update).

Hi Tim,
i to am starting to use terminus. im waiting on the registered version
now.. im also using jrcomm, which is what i started with.. at any rate;
i cant seem to get terminus to work right with cis. i get to the
copywrite notice and it just sits there???? what settings are you using
with cis? it seems to work fine with any other board i hit.. (i use both
1.3 and 2.1 OS and jrcomm on 1.3 will not support 14.4 to well) i would
like to swith completly to terminus and free up some space on my drive.
just as a note: i registered with terminus because of the great support
ya get from jack.. but seeing how he is on vacation im looking to you.
(writing this on AP)

Hi Mark,
Unfortunatly I never use Terminus for logging onto CIS I always use AP…
I have had that problem with the Copyright notice myself though… it was
so bad I had to reboot… problem was the problem persisted, so I
reinstalled Terminus, and that cured it.
Is it only CIS this happens ? It seems like some strange bug in Terminus
is it's only CIS that this happens… but then again the one time I did
log to CIS with Terminus (before I got AP) I never got this problem.
As for Jack, I have seen the odd message on Amiga International Echo…
and with his wife just recently giving birth to another addition to their
family I doubt they have gone on vacation ! 🙂

Mark,
Just caught your message on Terminus freezing when you log into
CIS. You can eliminate that by turning off the query from CIS in
your personal preferences area. Unfortunately, I don't know the
exact term for this feature on CIS, I've not been over there for
quite some time now. But I will and will post a note in the next
archive.

There's no reason why Terminus should freeze … if the micro-inquiry
is turned on, CompuServe sends an ESC-I then waits to see if the
user's terminal program will give the correct response, if it
doesn't, CompuServe continues on. If there is a "freezing" (rather
than a 5-10 second delay while a possible response is being awaited)
then it's something to do with your handling of the ESC-I.
Steve,
Terminus isn't "freezing", the B+ XPR module is. I've not checked to
see if there's something wrong in Terminus that's not allowing the XPR to
proceed after seeing the <ESC>I though or if it's in the XPR itself yet.
Hope to get some time this weekend to check on that though.

Term was buggy, but it appears to be really stable now (ver 3.1).
Does anyone know where I could get XPR libraries for B+ protocol?
zzzzz…..
The Sandman…..
Make sure you've got Term set to 8 bit, no parity, 1 stop bit (8N1) and
that you've got a QuickB or B+ xpr library in your Libs:.
