#For Sale
14 messages in this thread
Due to an overwhelming lack of interest in the 2000 system that I have for
sale, I would be willing to split up the system if anyone is interested in
individual components. The system consists of the following:
Amiga 2000 in tower case with 1MB onboard.
Progressive Zeus 040/33MHz board with 16MB 60nSec Ram and SCSI2 interface
170MB and 52MB SCSI hard drives
FlickerFree Video2 flicker fixer
USR Sportster External 14.4k modem with fax
Commodore 1930 VGA monitor
[B
Please make offers on entire system or individual components.

I really could use a case for my 2000… but when I see the beautiful new
full-sized towers for clones going for ~$130 and everyone I ever come across
with an Amiga Tower asking ~$275, I am discouraged. Consequently, I have
operated for quite some time with the cover removed and several drives laying
loosely about.
How much for the tower case (with and/or without the 2000)? Also, what is the
appearance, fit and finish of the tower case like; does it look like a
professional job or was it a case built for a different system and then hacked
up to accomodate the Amiga's connectors, etc?

True, the Amiga Cases are expensive, but it always comes back to
economy of numbers.
If Bomac had made a zillion tower cases they could have gotten the
price down well below $350.
If you so desired, there were lots of plans floating around to convert
a PC case to an Amiga case, but that meant you had to have the right
tools to cut thick steel (no tin snips here !)
I did convert a case once, and it was a royal pain in the butt, then I
bought a Bomac, used, for $225.
It has it's good and bad points, but overall I am thrilled that the
motherboard fits, and theres lots of drive bays.
Thanks for the info about the Bomac. Are there any identifying marks
on a Bomac? IOW, can I tell by looking at it whether it's a Bomac?
Hmm, identifying marks ? Not really, the only thing I can suggest is
looking at the ports on the back.
The Top of the case flips up, has a keylock, keyboard and two Amiga
9-pin D-sub connects for mouse/joystick.
The back of the case is very open, because the Bomac uses the base of
the A2000, which already has all the slots and port cutouts,
So the back of the case will either look like the back o an Amiga, or a big
gaping hole.
There is also a removable plate near the top of the case, take this
out and you can install a second poer supply (Bomac custom size,
unfortunately). You will need the second power supply if you intend
to put a lot of drives into the case (which is what its purpose
really is). The Bomac can hold 5 – 3.5" half height devices and 3
5.25" half height devices
Your message had exactly the information I was looking for. Thank you.

Jim,
How muh are you asking for the Zeus? I am interested…
I could be interested in the modem, too.
thanks, dave fisher
Dave,
Since the Zeus has 16MB of 60nSec ram included, I would like about
$1300 for it. Make me an offer though. As far as the modem, I just
sold one identical to it for $95 but I have seen them on here cheaper
than that. Make me an offer on that too..

Jim;
Please educate me about the flicker fixer. Wer'e running a 2000 with a
GVP g-force 30/40 and I'm completely ignorant about this device/board/rig?
Would also appreciate you giving me an idea of how much you think its
worth.
Thanks

G.E.,
The FlickerFree Video2 is similar to the C= flicker fixer except that it is a
little better (cost more initially anyway). It allows you to use either a
Multisync or even a regular VGA monitor on your Amiga and gives you a display
without that annoying flicker that comes with quite a few of the Amiga
resolutions. Anyway, I haven't really thought too much about what I should get
for that by itself. I paid about $225 for it when I bought it originally
though.
Thanks, Jim
Jim;
In regards to your flicker fixer,
Will it work on a C= 1084S ?

G.E.,
No, it will not work with a 1084S. It's output is similar to VGA on a PC and
needs a 15pin High Density cable. It allows you to use either multisuync
monitors, or VGA monitors on either a 2000 or a 500.
Jim
What are you looking to get from the 170MB SCSI Drive? Let me know by E-mail.

Jim,
I run a program for gifted students in grades 6-8. We are
looking for donations of Amiga equipment. After all the dust settles and
most of the good stuff is gone you may find yourself with some items left
over collecting dust. 🙂 If so please consider donating whatever you have
to our program. I will of course arrange to pay any shipping costs, and
supply a letter of thanks for tax purposes. Thanks.
