Hey, Just downloaded the GUGONG.JPG file, and I've got one request. I really like to see other people's work, but if you're gonna upload a deom of it, could we please stick to 640×480 .GIF files instead of a bizzare 2000×1500 .JPG file?? At that resolution and filesize, I was expecting something very Pyros-like. Don't get me wrong, it was nice, but not worth 450k of Compuserve ($) download time. -/Robert

Thanks for the compliment! <g> Great rating system! Maybe we should develop it further – "That's a 0.7 Pyros still." <bg> Greg (couldn't resist) Pyros

Good rating idea – we need some scale… I always like ot think I'm running somewhere around a 0.85 on the Pyros scale. (Although I must say I really surprised myself the other day on an interior) One problem, we might have to add in a Yost IPAS factor. I had a shot that was about a 0.3 – until I added a few flares, etc. and it jumped to a 0.9 (Space scenes are way too easy) Ah well, enough pumping up your ego; back to my own! -/Robert/ P.S. Say "Hi!" to Todd Wiedemann when you meet him at AU for me.

And I guess we'll need to follow that with a unit of measurement based on the diameter of someone's expanding head? 🙂

John: Boy, this is a rough crowd! As stated before, you've got to be able to take it as well as give it here on ASOFT! See? I'm taking it! I am! Yes! I am! And I'm _happy_ about it! %^) Greg

I'm glad you can roll around in the mud with the best of them. Of course, I don't mean to diminish the Pyros Partnership's ability to hire the absolute best submissions for Autodesk animation contests. 🙂

John: The trick is to recognize genius before the rest of the world does! To find someone like that after he wins an award is easy; to hire them before, tweak the project, and submit it when the animator doesn't think it is good enough to even enter is a little harder! <g> Winning first place is just icing on the cake in that situation, we already had him working for us before that! So we had already won! <g> Greg Pyros

Oh, I must've misintepreted what someone else said here: that he'd done the animation, you hired him, and then he won.
