Got it, VESA.COM wasn't running. I thought that it was in my autoexec.bat but
was actually in a batch file I used for running R2. Though, I don't quite
understand why I need a vesa driver for running a board specific instalation.

Aha! The old 'thought it was in my autoexec.bat file' trick! Gets 'em
every time!
The vesa driver for the graphite is more than a vesa driver – you can look
at it as a tsr for controlling the board that has vesa built in!
