I am trying to load ASCII files onto a Toaster! Feedback tells me
that the Amiga 2000 with Toaster 2.1 will read IBM created disks.
When I go to the CG and try to load as frame page, I get the message
'Can't find'! (Or the equivilent) I know that I must have 700k disks!
This is not the answer.! Anyone know what I am doing or not doing?
Remember, your dealing with a guy that likes to 'point and click'!
I have not tried this but I do remember that you have to copy and
rename the ASCII text file to where your Toaster directory is…
From CG p.10 (2.0 system): For example,
DH1:Toaster/CGTextFiles/page##.text
## is the two digits that specify the page number.
My Toaster directory is found on my DH1: partition,
yours may be different.
Also it looks like the CG will not spill text into additional pages.

Are you mounting the drive as an MS-DOS drive beforehand? If not, the
Amiga will not see the disk as a legal volume. You need AmigaDos 2.1 or a
program like CrossDos to acess those 720k IBM disks. If you have AmigaDos
2.1, then go into a CLI window when you boot and type:
Mount PC0:
Then anytime you insert a PC disk into the floppy drive it will spin for
a bit and come up with an Icon marked "????" then you'll see another with
the MS-DOS volume name on the workbench. You'll have to use the CLI or
Window/Show/All Files menu item on the second Icon to see the contents in
workbench, but in programs like those with the Toaster you should see PC0:
as a new volume choice in your requesters. You'll still be able to access
Amiga disks like normal from the floppy.
If you don't have the newer version of AmigaDos or the program CrossDos,
check the libraries here for a program called "MessyDos" or "Msh". These
are supposed to allow reading PC disks, but I have had no experience with
either one.

It's even easier than that (mounting the Amiga's MS-DOS floppy
device): Larry need merely open the sys:storage/dosdrivers drawer
and drag the PCO: icon he finds there into the sys:devs/dosdrivers
drawer. Then it'll be loaded automatically upon every boot
thereafter. Pop a MS-DOS disk in the Amiga drive and an icon with its
volume name will appear on the Workbench, and should also pop up in
any Toaster software file requesters. — Ron Legro from Milwaukee
