I'm trying to add a SyQuest SQ3105 connected to a 4000 thru a 2091,
everything goes alright until I try to do a low-level format. Toolbox says
it formating, the drive led comes on and sounds as if it running, but
nothing seems to be happening after -2- hours…
Any ideas or sugg….

I recieved an announcement for a new controller which specifically
mentioned using the 105 Syquests in a 4000. That could mean that there
are problems using them with other controllers. The announcements
just came in today, and I didn't have time to more than skim over it.
I can look on Monday if no one comes up with anything definitive by
then.
You might check the firmware level on the 2091, 7.0 is the latest.

My syquest (88MBC) will not take any kind of formating other than:
"Format drive SHx: name xxx FFS quick". If I try to do a full format
it hangs everytime every cart, but the quick works and no problems,
strange.
