I've had problems. My 2.1 upgrade was fine but my 2630 ROM upgrade was and is a joke. On 5-4-93 they sent me 2 chips which didn't work(wouldn't boot up and all I got was a purple screen). Sent them back. 5 weeks later I get a box but theres only I chip in the box. Sent it back. Waited 5 more weeks and called them. They said they were backordered. Waited until August and they said they didn't know when they would be getting any. They had already billed me for the chips. I told them to cancel the order and credit my VISA. They said "sure no problem". Next VISA bill no credit. Called again. They said "sure no problem". Next VISA bill no credit. Last weekend I sent my reciepts, my letters I sent when I sent the chips back and copies of UPS invoices to my VISA bank. Maybe they can squeeze blood out of a stone. The chips are $34.95. Its possible that they figure you will give up after a while because its not a large amount and you will say "screw it" Dave Lewis

David, Sounds like they want to sell you a new computer. I'm trying to upgrade my A2000 to 2.04 to match my A3000. I hope I am not going to find myself in the same boat as you. I also have to upgrade my hard disk controller. My current hard disk is an aging 2090. I have found a 2090a (fortunately I have a SCSI hard disk) from the grapevine group that supposedly has the correct revision ROMs. Good luck anyway and if I find the ROMS anywhere else I send you note

I have a GVP Series II HC-8 SCSI Ram controller with 2 meg of 16 bit ram on it that I will sell to you. It works throught 2.1, anyway, cause I just took it out of my 2.1 driven A2000 wheni hooked all my SCSI devices to the '040 accelerator instead of running two controller cards. It has 4.4 ROMs on it, but GVP has a ready supply of 4.13 ROMs that you can get if you want them, but so far the only requirement I know of to upgrade is if you want to run TapeWormFS. If you are interested, EMail me.

The check was cashed and I got my Kwickstart but no rom, rendering it useless!!!!! :^( @#$% They said I had about a thirty dollar credit cause they couldnt get the rom, in a letter. THAT SUCKS!!!! Grapevine kinda SUCKS!!!! I always thoght they were kinda cool til I ordered somthing from them. Never again. ….John
