#Help with an animation
4 messages in this thread
Dear Folks; I need some help. A local TV station has asked me to do
an animation for them in one of there ads. The ads go's like this.
There is a mail box of the left side of the screen. The door to the
mail box opens and out come for piece's of mail. They want this mail
to move to the left side of the screen and then paste itself one on
top of the other in a single column down. Not much of a problem so
far. The problem I'm having is making the mail look like the wind is
blowing it out of the mail box. I having a problem make it look
reallistc. I need the mail to do a couple of loop the loops and a
couple of twists " slow barrel rolls" on it's way to the right hand
side of the screen. The mail must twist and bend while its is moving
to look like the wind is moving it. could you please help me or help
me get in touch with some one that can? I would appreciate and help.
Thank you. My phone number is 619-873-4226 if any one needs to call.
that doesn't sound too difficult. You could create paths in the lofter
and apply them to the objects with follow and bank. You also create
some morphs of twisting and bending versions of the letters.
Thank you very much for the Tips. This will help

Tim, fortunately for you it is the fall/winter season. I would
recommend that you take the "Disney" approach to your wind problem.
At Disney (and many others) they videotape complex actions that they
need their animators to duplicate. If you have even a basic
camcorder (or rent one) you could videotape leaves falling or throw
some envelopes up in the air and tape them falling. Then xfer this
to VCR. Watch the tape over and over until you feel you can
duplicate the random nature instinctively.
I am probably making this sound more involved than it really is.
Still, you might be suprized (and hopefully so will your clients!).
