Jon – Tell me a little about the limitations. My needs are probably going to be
pretty simple as this will be my first system.

David, as I stated to someone else, M-JPEG captures at 320×240, then,
interpolates to full screen. The causes some degree of pixilation and " jitters
", but the Miro is the best that I have seen, and the only one I've kept after
seeing the results. I have tried the cardinal snap plus, the fast Movie machine
pro, and the intel isvrpro ( this is a nice card but no output or full screen.

Thanks John. I think from everything I have read the miro board looks to be the
best choice for low-end editing.
One question I have, which I plan to post, is is there a board that takes
advantage of the PCi bus in Pentium machines? I you have any thoughts on the
subject I'd like to hear them.

David, As far as I know, there are no PCI cards out there yet. I heard a RUMOR
that Miro was working on one.

I called miro re: PCI board. They were vague but probably working on one and
will be released by end of year.

demoed the current version of Miro products. Pretty impressive. I decided to
wait, as they indicated they are going to release a PCI version, with a 3rd
qtr. date, which they claim to be in Targa 2k range of quality. They also
claimed an anticipated price range of US $1500! On the other hand, a lot of
other companies are working on the same thing, by all accounts. Its
frustrating, I want to buy, but I guess I'll wait til summer.
