Nancy, Hi Nancy. Hope all is going well. I was hoping you could give me a couple of sources for IPAS routines and maybe sound effects. I particularly need a fire IPAS at the moment. I would also like EXPLODE – I can't remember if that was a public domain IPAS or not. I left Laser Resources, Inc. (CD-ROM publisher) and am now working as a Product Manager at Davidson & Associates, Inc. It was a great move. We are up to about 500 employees now and are working with such heavy weights as Simon and Schuster and Fischer Price (I can get you some great educational software now starting for ages 3 and up). The company was started and is headed by a woman named Jan Davidson who was an educator for years. You have probably heard of her. She started developing her own software to teach her students and now owns a multi-million dollar company. She's pretty neat. I am currently working on software strictly for the classroom. We are co-funded by the states of California, Texas and Florida and a publisher called Addison Wesley. We are developing a curriculum about American history for LEP (Limited English Proficient) students or students with English as a secondary language (ESL). I feel like I'm finally doing something useful. It's a CD-ROM, Laserdisc and/or videotape. Davidson has it's own sound and video editing departments, a usability lab, 3D animators, 2D animators etc… all in-house. It's amazing. Our underlying code is all proprietary software developed at Davidson. I have been here for about 3-4 months now. Anyway, I got settled into my position and am now back on 3D studio. I just upgraded to Release 4 and want to get a product out this year. I met a gentlemen this past weekend who does forensic work and I thought of you. I hope your business is going well. I know you had your hands full since your little girl was born. If you can take a minute to respond, I would love to hear from you. If you can help me with the above questions, I would appreciate it. I sent an e-mail to the Yost Group also, to get their price list and catalog. Hope you're staying dry. Talk to you soon.
