#OpalVision VP
3 messages in this thread
FYI! The Demo units of the OpalVision Video Processor have started shipping! We
got ours today. It has the R-Chip inserted in the OpalVision Main board and
then sandwiched, A'la Toaster, together with the VP board which has a long
cable which attaches to a small SVHS/Comp. input/output device (You can mix
both). S'ware is on CD-ROM with lots of goodies (shipping units will have a
choice of disks or CD) and the manual, while not yet done, looks solid with
lots of info. The DVE's are awesome and you get about 450 effects as well as a
DVE Editor for creating your own DVE's. While I haven't spent a lot of time
with it the impression is that it is impressive. Then you can upgrade to the
Video Suite which gives you more features. I'll let others far more qualified
than I take it from here but I thought you'd like to know. We'll keep you
informed.

How's it stack up to the Toaster?
– Jim, on AP!
Hi,
I have not had a chance to hook up the scopes or do any editing, etc. so its
hard to say. Maybe to little to late? Depends on the Amiga sit. say 6 monthd
from now. It really has some great things going for it and I'll post more soon
when I can, NDA's and such. Nothing will ever beat the Toaster IMHO! For price
vs. features, exspanablity and quality it wins hands down. That's not to say
there's not some areas for improvment and that's what InnoVision and others
have tried to give the end user–professional tools!
Wait till Toaster owners get a look at not only Alpha Paint, but what we do
next!……………….
All The Best,
Tom Patrick
