Commodore U.K. met with the Bahamian Court Friday Sept. 23 in NY and
CDI co. met Mon. Sept. 26 for final negotiations for the buy out of Commodore
Int. and all it's assets. There is still no answer as of this time who has
acquired the company and assets. We should be hearing the final decision in 2
weeks. Commodore U.K. and CDI co. are the 2 highest bidders and it seems one of
these two are most likely to be the winner. I will update this letter as soon
as I find anything out. If you wish to keep track for yourself you can call the

that since July… 🙁

I heard a rumor that Commodore UK and CEI have had their bids comingled for a
joint arrangement, with UK getting the 1200/CD32 AAA development rights and CEI
getting U.S. A4000 production. Another rumor indicated that Amsung will be
purchasing license rights for certain specific technology that wouldn't
directly compete with U.K.'s product lines.

It was Samsung. I had a typo in my last post. I agree that the rumors are
getting a little out of hand, but in the face of no real information being
released from the principles involved, it beats the heck out of lighting a
match to our Amigas and warming our feet in the flames.
Incedently, I fail to see any logical reason why U.K. wouldn't want the AAA
technology. From what had been previously disclosed, the development was
complete on the hardware end of things. The new software was just about done
when everything folded. If that info is correct, it would seem to be quite
foolish to throw away a technological advance that would meake the platform
more desireable.

The reason, according to Pleasance, is that they would need 18 months to
revise the operating system to support AAA and he apparently doesn't want
to wait that long. He's hot on his silly RISC-based NT box. This is
because he's a dope. :-/

Now, I don`t know whether this is true but I heard, due to CBM`s extended bid
time, it would not be able to open its production lines in time for Xmas, so
its bye-bye CBM from my point of view. How can they continue with no revenue?

No expenditures, no need for revenue. The loss of this christmas wouldn't
hurt the company that buys the amiga for sales as high end systems. Only
CD32 would be dead and it is already. The chain stores have already put
thier orders in for all the vidgame machines they want.

No Christmas sales would only hurt CD32 sales if any. People who need
A4000's will buy them as soon as they are available. If they wanted quick
revenue they would make some parts like Ramsey and DMAC chips.
If 4000's came out at reasonable prices, I would buy two….
