On the pc (pc's actually) I'm dealing with Complete Communicator and Quick Link
II fax packages. Seem to be able to convert the fax format to pcx then to
something suitable for the toaster.
Trying to go from toaster to fax, I run into problems. The fax software can
convert from "…either a black and white TIF or PCX file or monochrome bitmap
(BMP) with a resolution no greater than 200 DPI."
How do I eliminate all the color information in the file and how does 200 DPI
relate to screen resolutions of say 640×480?

You will have to use your ADPro to convert first color to grey, then grey
into a 2 color (B&W) image, which will look like a halftoned newspaper
image. Play around with the dithering settings before saving as pcx. The
DPI (dots/inch0 is more a measure of how big you size the image on the
fax. The 640×400 resolution is just dots, so to stay under 200 DPI, it
must be printed at least 2 inches high and 640/200 inches wide.
