I'm looking for a program that can uncompress LHA and LZH formats into a PC. I downloaded a bunch of MOD files and they are either lza or lhz, when I used my own uncompressor it told me they were in a wrong format. Now, since a) there are MOD players for windows (read also as PC) and b) most of the MOD files are compresed then I assume c) there have to be a way of uncompressing those files.

There is an MS-DOS version of the LHA program that can decompress both .LHA and .LZH files. (You'll have to rename the .LHA files to .LZH). Look for the program lha213.exe in one of the IBM forums. Note that you may run into some problems due to the MS-DOS 8.3 file name limits, but the files should decompress properly. Hope this helps…. – BobR

You could look at the file in Library 5 named HOWTO.TXT -sja
