Have Magic Lantern now but am still just playing with it; have you gone so
far as to try syncing sound with its built-in capability? How has that
worked out?

Not yet. I have been too busy modeling and rendering. But I will have a
chance to try this out soon. Should be fun! 🙂

Just got a flyer; Magic Lantern 2.0 is out. Among other new features,
claims to be about twice as fast in some operations as 1.0. Cheap upgrade,
too.
Gee I'm going to have to spend a few minutes filling out and mailing the
registration card. In fact I have about 6 of them waiting to be done! 🙂

or is that 1 of the Registration cards ya have to send out already?

Yea I saw that. But it will have to wait for a while. I have to pay off
the 1.7gig Barracuda drive I just bought! 🙂 But with that drive I will be
all ready for it.
I also want to get an RCA Direct Satilite System this fall and dump
COMCAST except for basic. Oh all the toys! I need to hit the lottery! 😉
Some worry about, and run from the ever increasing tital wave of media.
Some of us just go surfing! 🙂

I would go for PrimeStar instead of DirecTV if I were you and they are
available in your area. PrimeStar gives you the hardware and updates it
for free. They have almost completed changing everyones receivers to the
new digital one and when completed, they will be broadcasting in all
digital format giving them many more channel choices than DirecTV can with
their analog box.

Jump over to the CEVIDEO forum for more accurate info. The RCA DSS
system is all digital NOW. The only anticipated change is that they will
shortly be switching from mpeg-I to mpeg-II compression. The receivers
are already setup for mpeg-2 so that is just something they do at their
end. Here are the camparisons I've made:

in the CEVIDEO forum is about DSS.
I think I'll go with DSS. 🙂

do you know if any of these newfangled pizza-sized satellite dishes can
operate behind a window? We just moved into a 13th floor condo with an
expansive south view, but no balcony. If only I could install the dish at
my livingroom window…

Experiments have been done. Evidently regular window glass is no
problem, but some insulated panes, especially those with metalic heat
films can stop the signal cold.

What's that? Berlin is quite cold, and they use just double glass windows
(german standard)
