I'm basically interested.
Please describe the board a little more.
-does it go into the fast processor slot?
-will my RAM-chips still be fast enough?
-will it cause thermal problems?
-is the mathcoproc on board?

I will have to dig to get the answers to your questions.
It is my understanding that it replaces the standard processor daughterboard
and does not fill the processor slot. Your RAM chips should not have problems
and the board should run no hotter than the 16mhz board you have in your
machine right now. There is no math co-processor on the board.
I will verify the answers I just gave with some other people that have an even
better understanding of the 3K. Why not buy it and try it out – if it does'nt
work send it back and I will give you your funds back.

my motherboard has the processor on the motherboard, I don't have a standard
processor daughterboard.
It's probably an older A3000.
I don't want to buy it before I know that it fits in the machine at all.
I have enough trouble as it is with my Amiga.
I've had it for 2 weeks and its been in repair for 1 week now.
Please find out about the board-thing.

I asked some associates of mine about the board. It is a daughter board that
fits on the mainboard. The board itself is 1 inch by 3 inches with a 2-or-so
inch female connector on it. It replaces the stock processor daughterboard.
If your machine in-fact has the processor "built in", you could not use this
board. I have not heard of such a machine, but heck, you have it, not me. I
am sorry to hear that you are having problems with it. Next time you are in it
double check how the processor is mounted. Drop me a line if you want to try it
out.

Steve, you're confused. The board is an A3000/A4000 CPU card. They both
use the same CPU slot. A4000s don't have CPUs on the motherboard. A3000s
do, but that doesn't mean you can't "override" them with a CPU card.
I don't have a 3K so I am kind of flying blind.
I thought that you pull the 16mhz daughter board, put in the 030, and you're
done.

It'd be hard to pull the 16mhz daughter board because there isn't one.
There is a 16mhz 030 surface-mounted to the motherboard.
Somebody must be getting a good laugh from this thread.
However the heck the thing goes in, I got 'em if people want 'em. I hope that
my unenlightened state has not discouraged any prospective buyers.
