David,
Can you send me some liturature on Bones. I have a project I am beating my
head against the wall on. It is a character animation that has very few seems.
I am in morphing hell right now. When will it be available?

Bones will be ready by Autodesk Univ. Oct.22. One of the reasons for the delay
is that we are trying to do Bones without the need for any morph targets at
all. Bones would bend the object on the fly before each frame renders. That's
the plan anyway. David – Digimation
P.S. Call me for a current catalog. (800) 854-4496

If you can pull it off, it will be well worth the delay. 🙂

David,
With R4 of 3DS will you be able to use the IK with the bones?
This would be fantastic! (one note: Leave the functionality to create morph
targets if the user wants. In some instances I often need a mesh and with
IPASs like slice you can't get a mesh except after rendering. This would be a
great modeling tool.)
Do you need any beta test sites. I could really put it through the paces in my
next few projects.

Hi Andrew,
Unfortunately, Bones will not work with R4 IK feature. It's really impossible
unless both IPAS programs support each other. It is possible for IK to be built
into the Bones routine. This is something that we're looking into but probably
won't make the first release. David – Digimation

Mark,
I am not exactly sure what gws is? You may have this message directed at the
wrong person.
