I have lots of images in my map's library, in other libraries, on my CD-ROM
disks
and in lots of other places.
which program is the best and fastest to view these images in the easiest way?
I would like to see them in a cel-like view (a lot of little images on one
screen)
which program or sub-program does it the best ?

There are a few browser/database/catalog programs for images. The newest is
available here on CIS as a working demo as an IPAS routine called EYEBROWSE,
from the guys who wrote the Mirage IXP. There is also a viewer which comes
with the Autodesk Texture Universe CD-ROM.

The EYEBROWSE util is great, but I'm working on a pentium 90, and through
the 3D-STUDIO the EYEBROWSE is not so fast…
I need somthing faster…

The first time you enter Eyebrowse, it may seem slow because it needs to build
your image thumbnails. But it only does this ONCE, and on any subsequent image
browsing, the thumbnails will come up INSTANTANEOUSLY. This is a limitation of
any image viewer.
Check out the newest Eyebrowse in the IPAS usage file section. Its major
benefits over windows based image viewers are that it, of course, operates from
within 3D studio and supports ALL current and future 3D Studio image formats.
And this one builds thumbnails twice as fast as the old version. And if speed
is your major concern, it includes a slider to select between fast operation or
increased disk space optimization at the expense of speed.
Of course, the beauty of shareware is that you can try out many products and
then decide on the one that suits you best.

If you don't need to veiw them inside 3d-studio get a small shareware program
called thumbs! you can do all your image management tasks with it including
jpeg batch compression and instead of writing a bunch small files all over your
drive it puts them in one file and keeps track of all the images (thumbnails)
on CD without the CD installed. I even have a image directory of my #1 computer
on my #2 puter. It's probably in windows shareware.
