#Using Metaware MDB

I can't get VGA video to work right with tandem mode.
When MDB starts up, I get the text mode mono display ok. But when I load and
run the 3ds.exe, I get only 1/2 second of good VGA video, then the 3DS display
goes whacky? What it appears like is about 10-12 miniaturized screen replicas
in a quilt pattern, but only the window rectangles show, none of the text. I
presume the video mode set by MDB is wrong.
Does MDB and 3DS have some peculiarities with certain display adapters and
should I bring this up with Metaware? My card is a Diamond Stealth 24 VLB.

Does this happen for all screen resolutions of 3ds vibcfg? I've never
seen/heard this before.

I don't know.. Can you swap out the graphics card with another flavor to
compare the behaviour?

The resolution is probably 640×480 VGA, as I would expect that to be your
default. I have never sep\licitly set or changed it.
I cannot easily change the card at this time due to other ongoing work.

See pg 66 of the 3DS Installation Manual. At the dos prompt type "3ds vibcfg".
This will bring up the vibrant configuration screen. Are you using the latest
drivers? They can be downloaded from the 3ds section of the lib with the
filename "VIB3DS.ZIP". There have been many improvements.
