Hello Teri ———— I made a perfect and running copy of the setup for 3DS R3. Then I downloaded the 3DSEXE.ZIP, and unziped it in the place of R3 EXE. I get this message when I try to start 3DS! Is this a documented problem? —————————————— Abnormal program termination: Page fault CS:EIP = 000Fh:002977A9h —————————————— When I copy back the old EXE I get it to run again!! -M.E

I would think this is rather some hardware problem. It just happens when you use the new 3DS executable by some coincidence. I've been running the new executable for quite a while with no problems. You know the drill. Clean up both config.sys and autoexec, exclude everything in upper memory and try it. If it runs, put the stuff back one at a time…. Things to look for: "Shared Memory" network cards conflicting with high memory, these new fancy video boards that have a window somewhere in memory space conflicting with real memory, sound boards, etc.

Is there such a major differense in the EXE for 3DS r3 and r4 that I could get these kind of problem when running r4 and not r3. I'm running both versions from the same place and the setup is exactly the same! >>You know the drill. Clean up both config.sys and autoexec, exclude everything >>in upper memory and try it. If it runs, put the stuff back one at a time…. I will do that!! Thanks for the reply! -M.E

I'm up and running!!! My fault was that I copied all information from the 3DS3 subdirectory, including the LiquidSpeed for R3. R4 didn't like LiquidSpeed for r3, so when deleting the Liquid files everything works OK!! -M.E
