Jim, I tried to startup up my system with just the HD. Then with the 3 key
reset. I still get nothing. Is the 3 key reset–The Ctrl key and the left
and right Amiga keys at the same time? No luck with that. How do I get a new
Workbench Install disk when the company is not in operation anymore. I was
going through the Tenex mail order compamy but now they are out of business as
well. Can you tell me where they are even available. I purchased my first set
of Workbench disks and I got 6 disks. Then I sent my computer back to them to
replace the floppy drive and they had me return the original workbench disks at
that time. But then when they sent new ones back to me they only sent me 5 in
return and said I didn't get an install disk this time. But I had originally
made backup copies of the 6 original disks. I'm trying to reInstall the system
with that backup copy. If they are not going to be available and I cannot find
one to use I guess I'll just have to give up and buy a new computer. Give me
some sources of where to begin my search. Thanks

Put your install disk in the drive and then open a shell and type INFO. Then
look at the line that gives the information about the install disk. Does it, by
any chance, say "Copy of Install"? When you make copies, they frequently put a
'Copy of' in front of the name of the copy. If this has happened, the computer
will not recognize that disk as the Install disk until you take off the 'Copy
of.' Make another copy of the disk, just to make sure you have one in case
something goes wrong. Then, click on the disk icon and then find RENAME in the
menus. Cursor to the left and delete the 'Copy of' from the name, and then
save that back to the disk. Then check again and see if the disk is now named
"Install". If so, your computer should now accept it and install your
software. Use your originals for the other five disks so you won't have to
rename them.
