#CD-ROM on APOLLO-Ctrl

I just tried to run an CD-ROM-Drive (Toshiba) on the SCSI-Controller of APOLLO.
The APOLLO does not even see the CD-Drive.
APOLLO-Install thinkls only of having the AT-Disk, which it allways had.
Any hints??

I've never heard of the APOLLO controller, so I am not at all familiar
with the way that it is set up. However, _some_ SCSI controllers use a
flag in the hard-disk's RDB (rigid disk block) to tell the controller that
the device is the highest SCSI-ID to scan — if this flag is set, then the
controller will not look for a device with a higher SCSI ID on the bus,
and therefore won't find it.
You might try examining the RDB using the program supplied with your
SCSI controller for setting up the hard disk (equivalent to the C=
HDToolBox program), and see if such a setting exists/is used.

greetings…. I'm hot to get a CDRom for my A2000. At present I'm running an
old GVP 2000 HC (?) series one. I have a 2090A, but guess I'll have to figure
out how to mount my HD. The question: will the 2090A support a CDRom?
I don't know about the 2090A, but the GVP Series 1 does not support
CD-ROM.

greetings….. I was in Montgomery for a year (84-85). Had a C-64 then. The
2090A does not have SCSI direct commands. What they are , I don't know . Have a
SCSI book around here somewhere. My plan is to try the 2000HC GVP series 1
controller I have at the computer store.
Hello…. in 84-85, I was in middle school in Colorado Springs, and had a
TRS-80 COCO, C-64, TI-99/4a, and a Sinclair 1000 (the C-64 was my
favorite). Anyways, I had a GVP A2000 Impact series 1 (the kind that can
accomodate 2MB RAM via 1MB X 1 DIPPS) installed in my expansion chassis on
my A500 since 1989. It has the original version 1.0 boot ROMS installed
(I bought it just after they came with Autoboot). Paid $399 for the thing
unpopulated. Tried to hook up an old single spin CD-ROM to it last year.
It wouldn't work. GVP said they don't support the card any more, and no
ROM updates were available anymore. They also said it never supported
CD-ROM. I now have a Series II in my A2000 (and soon, my A500) with 8MB,
but I put a new double spin CD-ROM on my 12Gauge equipped A1200. I
haven't tried it with the Series II, but it is supposed to support it.

If everything is write, which is standing in the manual YES.
I had no chance trying it.
But after it is an original COMMODORE Controller, it should.
Upgrading is worth it anyway.

spec's between a CDR 80 and CDR 25 both by NEC " the 25 is external. You have a
CD?
