JIM, You lost me with that last advice. I don't know what to do. In step 5
where is the DEVS supposed to be. Do you mean my workbench disk or my extra
disk? And I don't have a Show All Files command. I already have the printers
in my Devs Printer drawer. The problem is that they aren't in the Printer part
of my Prefs drawer. All I've got in there is Generic. I need the Epson Q
printer installed into that Prefs drawer. It exists in my DEVS drawer. All I
have on my Amiga Extras disk is Tools, Prefs, & System.
Here's the idea, Joan. You have a DEVS drawer in BOTH your Extras disk and
your Workbench2.0 disk. You need to DRAG the icon you wish from one DEVS
drawer to the other (drag it into the Workbench2.0 DEVS drawer) .. then Prefs
will show that driver as well as Generic.
About Show All Files. When you pull down the Windows Menu, one of the items
there is SHOW .. select that one, and you'll see a submenu that specifies ALL
FILES. Once you have done so, everything will have icons that you can see
(some things will look kinda cluttered). That's what you need when you go
looking for the printer driver you need. After the job is done, you'll want to
go back and turn off the show-all-files option so as to save clutter.
Much of this can usefully wait until you get the HD back into the mainstream.
