Hello, Is it possible to put the processor (CPU) board from an Amiga 3000 into an Amiga 4000? My A4000 died and I am trying to determine if it was the CPU board since with the current state of affairs, it appears as that is the only component I would be able to replace. Also, any info on anyone selling Amiga 4000 Towers? Thanks in advance, Don Suhr

What processor board? A3000s don't come stock with processor boards. If you put a 3640 in it, sure, you could use that in an A4000. I'm not sure about which third-party boards that work in an A3000 work in an A4000, but I'd think all of them would — the CPU slots are supposed to be the same. No one is selling 4000Ts. There aren't any to sell (there are only about 150 in the world).

Dale, I realized the lack of processor board (Which I knew, but hey… I've been feeling like a Norwegian Blue since the crash) as soon as I got the case off. Ah well, I knew the A4000T's were rare, just didn't know how rare… I'm pretty sure it is the processor board, as the A3000 I installed the A3640 in failed in the same manner as the A4000 (Same screen trashing). Thanks for your help & info… I was at my wits end… Don Suhr 73117,1337
