Penello Bug?
1 messages in this thread
Hello
Ive been thinking about getting Penello so Ive been working with the demo . I
ran across what looks like a significant problem, at least for the kind of work
I would do. The preview shoes vertical and sometimes horizontal lines across
the image.
Heres one of the setups I used to get the grid. Brush: brush.tif; Strokes:
66 ,0, 0 (12610) I also had the same problem at a variety of stroke settings,
but at settings where the strokes overlap a lot the grid is not as apparent.
Seed: any that I tried for example 631; Mixing: composite; Layering: random;
Brush color; source 0,0,0; Background: solid black; Size: constant 10,0,0;
Angle: constant -12, -180,0; Opacity: constant, 100, 0, 0 ;Source stand in: I
tried several, complex images dont show the effect well. I used a flat grey
640×480 tga for a clear look at the grid effect. Can you reproduce this? Can it
be fixed?
Even though this problem only shows up under certain conditions, it concerns
me because the images I intend to brush have large flat or gradated areas where
this would show up. As the image, brushes and other paramaters animate a grid
would appear and disappear in the scene.
Ive got Painter 3 which will do about half of what Penello can do. I dont
like the idea of yet another dongle to add to the 5 Ive got, and of course
Penello is very expensive. On the other hand Penello would be so much easier to
use than Painter for the work I want to do that I was very seriously
considering it until I ran into this problem.
I look foward to your reply,
Ed
