Hello, I am looking to purchace an Amiga 4000 Tower if said animal still is in stock anywhere, preferably somewhere in the states… Any info or leads in finding one would be greatly appreciated. My A4000 died recently and I need to be able to repair or replace it although I am leaning toward doing both… I need to be able to access the information stored on the IDE drive, which of course none of my other Amiga systems are capable of… Thanks in advance, Don Suhr

>need to be able to access the information stored on the IDE drive Then borrow someone's machine or buy a cheap used A1200 and adaptor cable for it's 2.5" IDE connector.

Dale, I never even thought of that… Will it work with the new 3.1 Fastfilesystem? That is a great idea… I'll have to get some feelers out & pick one up… Thanks again! Don Suhr 73117,1337

If the filesystem is in your RDB, yes, it'll work. Alternately, you could install the new filesystem on the system — filesystems are independent of the rest of the OS.

Don, There are some Zorro-II IDE cards out there. AlfaData makes one, as do the DataFlyer guys. -Jim MOS via Autopilot & Amiga
