Hi Steve! If you are interested I can get you the name and address of some folks using a toaster equipped Amiga at the Fremont Correctional facility in Canon City, Colorado. I don't know if they are on-line or not so It would be a U.S. Mail address. I have kindof a funny story, at least I think it is funny, about that system. For you this is probably old hat, but I haven't spent that much time around prisoners. 🙂 I installed this system at the facility there, it was in a medium security type prison where the prisoners can walk around inside the facility more or less as they please. (Canon City has about 4-5 prisons where some are more secure, some less, some for women, etc.) Anyway, I have this habit of taking out my wallet when I get to work because I don't like it banging around in my slacks. So, at the install, In front of 5-10 inmates in their "video production dept" I throw my wallet and my car keys in my briefcase. Now I didn't realize that I would be going out for a cigarette, etc., leaving my briefcase in the production room while inmates were in there. Anyway, by the time I realized that I had made a mistake it was pretty much to late to do anything about it. I mean it would look pretty bad, my turning around and pulling my wallet/keys right back out. Anyway, nothing bad happened, my wallet, my keys, my money etc., stayed right there… even when there were many times when the inmates were totally unsupervised and alone. -John

John, Since your story had a happy ending its funny. Things like that happen more often than you might imagine but usually the supervising officer catches those type of mistakes. I gather from your message that your job entails installing Video systems (Toaster Dealer?). I assume Fremont is using their studio as a vocational education type program? At Nassau County Correctional Center we don't use the studio for Vocational Training because Inmates sentenced to more than a year of time are transfered to the New York State Prisons. So our inmates are either short timers or awaiting trial. We do use our studio for doing remotes for the various News and Tabloid TV shows since we recently had an influx of "News Worthy High Profile" inmates (Joey Buttafuco, Amy Fisher, Joel Rifkin, Colin Ferguson etc..). We bring the inmates into our studio and the shows do a Satalite link remote. I would like a contact name and address for Freemont if it is not too much trouble and a phone number if possible. Better yet why don't you try to get them to sign on to this most excellent forum? By the way, How did you feel the first time you heard those big steel gates slam behind you and close you off to the outside world? That usually blows most peoples minds. 🙂 Thanks for the reply hope to hear from you soon and keep up the good work with the forum. Steve Biegler HouseBoat Studios "Sailin' on AutoPilot"
