Are there any capture/output boards currently available that take advantage of
the PCI bus in Pentium machines? Is this something that is worth waiting for? I
have a Pentium and am looking to purchase a "low-end" digital editing solution
along the lines of the miroVideo board but am wondering whether I should be
trying to take direct advantage of teh PCi bus through a specific board.
Thanks
David,
To my knowledge (limited to reading reviews), I've only found one card by
Matrox on the lower end to be PCI. Most others are ISA. The Matrox card did
not get very good marks though. Both miro and Fast gave me vague answers about
future PCI products. However, with the increase of the popularity of the PCI
bus, I believe in one year we will be seeing more PCI boards.
