CD/TV CD-ROM?

The interface is supposed to support models 521-B, 522, 523 & 562. The CDTV drive appears to be marked (GR)511(-S). Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone succesfully used the drive anywhere? Or is the CDTV useless, even as salvage?! …sigh Alex

I later learned that the CDTV drive is a customized Sony make that requires a special firmware controller; IDE and SCSI won't do the trick, unless you can hack some software. However, others I have talked with insist it is possible to put a replacement CD-ROM drive *in* a CDTV, though I don't have any details to share.
