Back in March of this year John Tissavary spoke of a Dynamics package
from Positron that he was sure would be ported to 3DS well before R4
came out. Gary said that he was sure we'd see it by SIGGRAPH, as he
had talked to the programmer working on it and the port was easier
than doing it in LW. At the time I expressed my skepticism that such
a program would be available and hoped the capabilities would be
added to R4 just in case.
So… I guess I'm wondering about this package. Is it now available,
or will it be soon? And just how much (if any) of this stuff is
available via R4, via scripts? Or should I just wait until next week
when my R4 arrives and then ask? (I'm just anxious for such
capabilities — it and spline modeling are the only things missing
from 3DS, IMHO.)
Anybody have any info?
I think Brent Malnack, of Positron, has been on the forum a few times lately
and mentioned the DMM (dynamic motion module). Should be ready soon…
