>>>Also, The DOS file slider does not conform with the same sliders in any other software I've used. For example, in a windows file selector, open to a directory with 1300 files. if files 0 thru 9 are in the window, then a click in the bar should bring up files 9 thru 19 (or 10 – 20), and another click would bring up 19 thru 29, and so on. Why does every click in the PAR's file slider drop down 130 or so files in the same 1300 file directory?<<< >>>Is this an amiga thing? <<< Hey don't blame the Amiga. AmigaDOS has great dynamic file sliders, something that I miss on Windows. On the Amiga the file slider takes up the whole column if the number of files is equal or less than the required number of line. The slider changes dynamically growing smaller as the number of files increase. In Win/Mac the slider is always the same size and you don't know when you are at the bottom until the list ends.

>>Hey don't blame the Amiga. I'm not blaming the Amiga for anything. I have no idea how sliders work on the Amiga, all I know is that the sliders in the new PC PAR software are a pain to use if there are a large number of files in the directory, and that it works differently than ANY other DOS/Win sliders I have ever used. If DPS is going to change the operation of the sliders, they should at least improve them, not make it more difficult to find a file(s).
